    We will enjoy small tastings as we gather for a relaxed, picnic-style luncheon. As Rosa cooks, her Sicilian heritage shines through. Her stories, memories and thoughtful reflections offer a glimpse into the island she loves, giving each dish a sense of place and inviting us into the warmth of that world.

    It is an experience that blends practical learning with a little transportive magic, leaving you inspired to bring these flavours to your own summertime tables.

    Rosa’s San Valentino Menu

    On Arrival
    A welcome glimpse into family traditions, with stories to set the scene:

    • My Nonna’s Tomato Amoggio Bruschetta – diced tomatoes with oregano and olive oil, lovingly prepared in a mortar and pestle.

    • My Mother Pina’s Pane Cunzato – Italian crusty bread seasoned with extra-virgin olive oil, Sicilian sea salt and black pepper.

    • Rosa’s signature almond biscotti.

    On the Table
    To enjoy alongside savoury dishes:

    • Strawberry, summer melon, gorgonzola and rocket salad.

    Demonstation (Savoury Courses):

    • Chicken Drumettes alla Pizzaiola – roasted chicken drumettes seasoned with tomato, onion, oregano and parmesan.

    • Involtini di Melanzani – eggplant rolls filled with ricotta and baked in a rich Napoli sauce.

    • My Mother Pina’s Pasta – pasta with wild fennel, currants and pine nuts, a cherished family favourite.

    Sweet Course

    • Olive oil summer fruit torte with Sicilian crushed nougat, a light and fragrant finish to the menu.

  • 10:30 – 3:30 (approx)

    Please arrive at  between 10:00 – 10:15 for meet and greet, morning coffee and readiness for a sharp start at 10:30.

  • No experience necessary.

    This is a demonstration only class, so a capacity to sit and observe is your only need!

  • Rosa Malignaggi of Rosas Table is the principal of her cooking school based in Frankston. Rosa teaches her craft from her beautiful Sicilian Heart, nurturing the recipes handed down from her family over the generations.

    Rosa has an individual rustic style of bringing her creations to a place of warmth and love with an embrace of life. Not only will you savour her delicious fare but you will be imaginatively transported to Sicily for a true taste of the Islands offerings!

    • Complimentary refreshments throughout the day.

    • A relaxed 5–6 course luncheon enjoyed picnic-style, with morning coffee, lunch and afternoon tea to savour along the way.

    • Take home recipes and a small treat to continue the experience at home.

    • Return transfers to and from the Sorrento/Queenscliff ferry can be arranged for foot passengers from the Mornington Peninsula. Please email hello@marthadale.com.au to organise.

    • Rosa shares Sicilian stories, memories and inspirations as you learn, creating a warm sense of place and connection.

    • There will also be an opportunity to purchase Marthadale produce and a few select retail items should you wish to indulge.

Occasionally, workshops may need to be cancelled or rescheduled due to unforeseen circumstances. In such cases, you’ll be offered the option to transfer your booking to a new date (if available) or receive a full refund.

If,  for whatever reason you are unable to attend please advise for alternative arrangements. The small class offered on this day is dependent on the confirmed numbers as I am sure you will appreciate. Together,  every endeavour will be made to fill your place and have refund offered.
